About the WOW Card

What Is the WOW Card?

Through a partnership between Gaston County Schools, Gaston Day School, Piedmont Community Charter School, and the Gaston County Public Library, students now have access to the WOW Card, their own library WithOutWalls! This virtual card gives students access to many helpful and exciting online resources via the Gaston County Public Library.

You can check out econtent, access research materials for assignments, and get help with language learning.

How Do I Log in?

If you are a student at Gaston Day, please see your school librarian for your WOW card number.

If you are a GCS student your WOW card number is based on your student ID, the same number you use for your lunch number. All cards start with WOW and have eleven numbers that follow. Some of the numbers will be zeros because your student ID is not 11 digits long.

  1. To find your number first write WOW and draw 11 blank spaces next to it, like this:
    WOW __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __
  2. Then write your student ID number starting with the last number of your student ID number in the last blank space. If your student ID was 123456 it would look like this when you start:
    WOW __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 6
  3. If your student ID number was 123456, it would then look like this when you have finished writing the student ID number.
    WOW __ __ __ __ __ 1 2 3 4 5 6
  4. Then fill in the remaining blank spaces with zeros. If your student ID was 123456 it would look like this:
    WOW 0 0 0 0 0 1 2 3 4 5 6

And now you have your WOW Card number! When you have to log in to any of the services, just enter this number!

If you are a PCCS student the process is the same as above starting with WOWP instead of WOW.
