Reciprocal Lending Agreement with Mauney Memorial Library

Effective - July 1, 2012

Adopted by the Board of Trustees: June 19, 2012

The Gaston County Public Library agrees to waive the annual out-of-county borrower fee for cardholders from the Mauney Memorial Library, Kings Mountain. Therefore, individuals who present a Mauney Memorial Library card when registering for a Gaston County Public Library card will not be required to pay Gaston's established out-of-county annual fee.

This agreement does not apply to Kings Mountain/Cleveland County or Cleveland County residents who are not registered Mauney Memorial borrowers, ie: Cleveland County Library card, non-registered, etc.

Please Note: Kings Mountain/Gaston County residents receive Gaston County Public Library cards free of charge. And, as per established library lending policies, any individual who works in, owns property in, or attends school in Gaston County may obtain a Gaston County Public Library card free of charge.

Accordingly, Gaston County Public Library cardholders who register for a Mauney Memorial Library card will not be required to pay out-of-library registration fees.

This agreement supersedes reciprocal lending policies initially approved by the Mauney Memorial Library Board of Trustees and the Gaston-Lincoln Regional Library Boards of Trustees in 1998 and reaffirmed in 2004.
