Library Conduct Policy
Library users have a right to assume that a visit to one of the library facilities will be free from harassment, free from physical discomfort and danger, and free from psychological and emotional stress.

Policy for Exhibits & Displays
The Gaston County Public Library provides space in the Main and branch library facilities for exhibits and displays of educational, cultural, civic, or recreational content.

Policy for Proctoring of Exams
In support of its mission to promote lifelong learning, the Gaston County Public Library will proctor exams for students upon request and based on the availability of personnel, facilities and technology.

Policy for Selection of Books & Material
Selection is based on the merit of a work as it relates to the Library’s stated mission and goals and on its value in relation to the Library’s existing print and non-print resource collections.

Policy for Use of Library Meeting Facilities
The Gaston County Public Library provides meeting rooms for use by the library and its affiliates, for government agencies, and for lawful public use as a public service.

Public Computer Access Policy
Public libraries make available the recorded knowledge of civilization, in many formats, to all citizens and thus promote and foster the free flow of information and ideas.

Reciprocal Lending Agreement with Lincoln County Public Library
Gaston County residents who wish to obtain a Lincoln County Public Library card will not be required to pay Lincoln’s out-of-county annual fee.

Reciprocal Lending Agreement with Mauney Memorial Library
Individuals who present a Mauney Memorial Library card when registering for a Gaston County Public Library card will not be required to pay Gaston's established out-of-county annual fee.
