Voter Redistricting Information Session
Emily Seawell, a Southern Coalition for Social Justice staff attorney, will present information about voter redistricting and its impact on our community. Emily Seawell is a staff attorney focusing on voting rights. Since joining SCSJ in January 2015, Emily has been involved in community-driven advocacy to empower voters of color and litigation challenging voter suppression and redistricting laws across the South.
A North Carolina native, Emily received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, where she was a National Merit Scholar, and her law degree from Elon University, where she was a Leadership Fellow and editorial board member of the law review. Before going to law school, Emily worked as a newspaper and multimedia journalist in the Tampa Bay area.
