GCPL Closed Until Further Notice

In light of the continuing threat by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Gaston County, effective Tuesday, March 17, all Gaston County Public Library locations will be closed to the public until further notice. We will not be accepting any book sale donations, and all library programs and meeting room usage have been suspended until further notice. This includes activities such as our Family Story Times, Preschool Story Times, and Toddler Times.

During our closure we have made the following temporary changes to regular library service:

  • We will be fine free for the duration of our closure (effective March 17th).

  • We have increased the number of renewals from one to two to help extend time patrons can keep materials as in order to ease worries about overdue materials.

  • Existing physical items that were on hold will remain in place until we are once again open.

  • Interlibrary Loan service has been suspended for now.

For inquiries related to checkouts, placing holds, and Reference services at the Main Library, you can call 704-868-2164 or email us at library@gastongov.com. You may also reach out to your local branch library directly for assistance, with the exception of the Ferguson Branch Library.

Gaston County Public Library is committed to the health and safety of our patrons and our staff. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding during this time. Please stay tuned to the library's website and social media outlets for continued updates.
