FGCPL Annual Gathering (feat. A readers' theater performance by local thespians)

Tuesday, May 1, 7 pm, Main Library Auditorium

The Friends of the Gaston County Public Library Annual Gathering will begin with a brief business meeting to discuss how the Friends have supported the Library during the past year and to confirm the following Executive Board Officers for 2018/2019:

· Pam Poteat, President

· Linda Klocker, Vice President

· Peter Plaksin, Treasurer

· David Poston, Secretary

Following the business meeting, attendees will be treated to an evening of theater.  The featured play will be The Aurelia Women's League Flower and Garden Show Gala Planning Committee (by NC playwright Judy Simpson Cook) - a comedic work about a group of ‘perfectly charming’ Southern women, struggling with Robert's Rules of Order during a meeting to plan their next social league event.

The play will be in readers’ theater format, with a cast comprised of talented, local thespians.  Readers’ theater is a performance given by actors reading directly from a script, using only facial expressions and minimal interactions during the performance.  Similar performances have been well-received by library patrons in the recent past.

A dessert and punch reception will immediately follow the evening’s activities.
